This recipe was first conceived soon after moving to this place of wonders, Oregon. I was enamored of the agricultural prowess of this valley, from apples and pears to kiwi, limes, artichokes, olives and best of all, hazelnuts! To have foods of the Mediterranean in a place with the wild Pacific ocean and all of its bounty, then surrounded by mountains, it seemed any food was game to try and grow here.
These hazelnuts are Oregon grown by organic farmers in the beautiful valleys of Oregon, the only place in the U.S. suited to grow these tasty hazelnuts. Its no surprise that they magically pair with our world renown Pinot Noir's and they are always the perfect gift near and far. They are indeed, "irresistibly Oregon".
